• National Health Development Surcharge Management Policy 2017 was approved at the cabinet meeting (headed by Honorable Prime Minister and all ministers/state ministers and deputy ministers were part of this meeting) on 16 October 2017. Therefore NTCC provided 77 sets of this policy including all attachments, a summary policy, a press brief and one page bullet information on surcharge to the cabinet division for initiate approval process. This is a huge achievement of NTCC and other non-government organizations. This policy opens the opportunity to utilize collected 1% health development surcharge from all tobacco products for sustainable tobacco control in Bangladesh. The gazette was published on November’17.
