Background

National Tobacco Control Cell (NTCC) has been established in 2007. NTCC is the functional arm of the Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare for tobacco control activities in Bangladesh. It has become the central hub of national coordination, referral and support centre for all tobacco control stakeholders, including NGOs & INGO’s in Bangladesh. NTCC is headed by the Additional Secretary (PH & WH), Health Services Division, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and day-to-day supervision, monitoring & coordination of anti-tobacco activity is conducted by the Coordinator (Joint Secretary) of National Tobacco Control Cell. Among other officers and supporting staffs there are three Program Officer, one account & logistics assistant and one office assistant are currently working at NTCC.
